EVENT #10A/B: MAIN EVENT

A total of 110 players from 554 starting returned to Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans Sunday to jockey for one of the top 63 in-the-money spots in the property’s World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event. The restart was littered with notable pros including bracelet winners Loni Harwood, Cliff Goldkind, Tom Franklin and Larry Wright as well as chip leader Steve Moore, John Dolan, Brandon Adams, Maurice Hawkins and five-time ring winners Valentin Vornicu and Kyle Cartwright. Following 10 levels and nearly 12 hours of action, play narrowed to just 10 remaining with Louisiana’s own Jared Ingles (pictured) leading the way.

Ingles claims 2,600,000 and leads the unofficial final table comfortably with the next closest stack belonging to Hugo Perez who holds 2,210,000. For Ingles, who finished 56th in the 2010 WSOP Main Event for $138,285, a victory would earn him his first piece of WSOP hardware and his largest career score. Perez, a final tablist during the same summer Series as Ingles’ deep run, also hopes for his largest career score and first career win. The pair at the top are the only two players to bag more than 2,000,000 chips.

Joining the tournament’s chip leaders for Day 3 will be Southern pros and multiple-time ring winners David Nicholson and John Holley. Nicholson edged out Holley bagging 1,455,000 to Holley’s 415,000. The table’s shortstack, meanwhile, belongs to Joseph Alesna who previously finished 10th in this season’s Main Event at Palm Beach Kennel club and looks to improve on that run here in the Bayou.

While the above names are still in contention’s for the tournament’s top prize, not everyone on Day 2 went home happy. The money bubble burst just over two hours into the restart, but not before Dolan, Adams, Hawkins and others hit the rail shy of a payday. Those to one-up the aforementioned notables and head home with a score include Ashly Butler (56th, $2,717), Dolan (53rd, $2,950), Cartwright (51st, $2,950), “Boston” Rob Mariano (48th, $2,950), Casino Championship points leader Cory Waaland (46th, $2,950), Wright (42nd, $3,241), Harwood (32nd, $4,055), four-time ring winner Caufman Talley (30th, $4,612), Austin Buchanan (24th, $6,208) and Christopher Conrad (11th, $13,030).

Two other players with a strong showing include the father-son duo of Bob and Robbie Beck. Bob, the elder Beck, busted Robbie late in Flight A, but Robbie came back with a vengeance to bag Flight B. The pair advanced to Day 2 and Robbie got the last laugh finishing 38th for $3,241 and besting his dad’s 57th-place finish and $2,717 score.

Main Event action resumes Monday at noon CT. Each of the 10 remaining players is assured $13,030 with the tournament’s champion pocketing $174,514, a Circuit gold ring and a berth in the National Championship.

Steven Moore is down around 300,000 when he gets the rest of his stack into the middle holding   . Jared Ingles toys with the call for a while before plunking a stack of chips into the middle. Moore is at risk, and he behind but is drawing live.

The board runs out      , and Moore can not catch up. He's been eliminated just before the end of Day 2, earning a pay bump up over $13,000 for his 12th-place finish.

Steven Moore opens to 55,000 in early position before Corey Hochman three-bet shoves from the small blind. It's a total of 322,000, and Moore calls instantly.

The     flop is marginally helpful to Hochman, and the   turn is rather handy, indeed. The river is the   to secure his come-from-behind double-up.

Jared Ingles opens the hijack to 48,000, and Steven Moore calls on the button. In the small blind, Hugo Perez three-bets to 175,000. Ingles wants to play for more, though, and he comes back over the top with a minimum re-raise to 302,000. Steven Moore gets the message and folds out of the way, while Perez sticks in another raise to 500,000 total. Undeterred, Ingles makes it 727,000, and Perez quickly folds.

With that pot, Ingles appears to have crested another milestone as the first player to reach two million chips.

Under the gun, Roy Castaneda limps in with his short stack. Hugo Perez completes from the small blind, and Chris Conrad squeezes in a raise to 57,000. Castaneda moves all in for just about 200,000, Perez folds, and Conrad calls.

The king in the window is pretty bad news for the at-risk Castaneda, and the       fails to deliver any salvation. He's been eliminated in 14th place, and his first career cash is worth $10,620.

From middle position, Jared Ingles opens with a min-raise to 48,000, and Steven Moore flats in the cutoff. In the small blind, Kwong Ip squeezes all in for just about 350,000. Ingles re-shoves over the top, Moore folds, and Ip is at risk and behind.

Ip fails to improve on the       board, and that's the end of his Main Event. For his efforts this week, he'll take home 15th-place money worth $10,620.

The river is the   and Moore turns up the heat, making it 100,000. Perez shifts uneasily in his chair. He rechecks his hole cards and calls.

"Nice call," Moore concedes just before tabling    for a bluff. Perez shows    for a pair of queens and takes the pot.

Steven Moore opens to 55,000 in early position, and Jared Ingles three-bets to 120,000 from the big blind. Moore calls, and off they go.

The flop comes    , and Ingles checks. Moore bets 125,000, Ingles calls, and the turn brings the  . Check-check this time. The river is the  , and now Ingles announces that he's all-in. It's 218,000 total, and Moore considers briefly before calling. Ingles tables   , and Moore mucks. Both all-in hands must be shown, so the dealer exposes his    before sending the pot over to Ingles' corner.

In the span of two hands, Fadi Massaad (pictured) has gone from his spot among the chip leaders to standing in line at the payout desk.

In the first hand, action folds around to the button where Massaad open-shoves for nearly 600,000. John Holley quickly calls all-in for 366,000 from the small blind, and he's happy with his choice once the cards are shown down.

The board runs out      , and Holley doubles up, knocking Massaad down to 215,000.

On the next hand, Massaad moves that remainder in, this time from the cutoff. Damian Radanov is in the big blind, and he calls with the covering stack. Massaad is dominated, his    needing some help to keep him alive against Radanov's   . The board comes      , and Massaad is out in 18th place.
