2017/2018 WSOP Circuit
The 2017-2018 season of the World Series of Poker Circuit promises to be biggest in the tour’s 14-year history. There are more options than ever, including three new venues: Seminole Hard Rock (Hollywood, Fla.), Seminole Coconut Creek (Fla.), and Thunder Valley Resort and Casino (northern California).
The 2017-2018 WSOP Circuit begins August 2 at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina, and it will end at Harrah’s New Orleans with a stop beginning May 10, 2018. In between there are 24 other stops on the schedule for 26 total Circuit stops this season.
For the eighth consecutive year, the Circuit season will culminate with the Global Casino Championship (formerly the National Championship). The GCC is an exclusive, invitation-only event. It has a minimum prize pool of $1,000,000, and most participants enter the tournament for free. At each stop on the Circuit, the Main Event winner will earn a free seat to the GCC. The Casino Champion – the player who earns the most points in the 12 official open ring events at the stop – will also earn a free seat. They’ll be joined by the top 50 players on the season-long leaderboard, as well as qualifiers from the international Circuit. In addition, the top 100 players from the 2017 WSOP player-of-the-year race each have the right to buy in to the GCC for $10,000. Any ring winner from the 2017-2018 season also has that right.
