History of WSOP OE Events

The history of split games as events at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a varied one that consists of attempts across many different games.

From mixed hold'em, mixed omaha and of course the multi-game events such as H.O.R.S.E and Dealer's Choice. However, of all the two-game mixes, Omaha / Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better has been the most popular over the past years and consequently attracted some of the tougher fields for such a low buy-in.

Since 2007, this very event has been won every year but 2010, and the list of winners are all household names. Last year John Kabbaj defeated a stacked final to capture his second WSOP bracelet while in 2013 it would be Mike Gorodinsky winning his first bracelet. In 2012, Oleksii Kovalchuk defeated a final table that included George Danzer, Mark Gregorich, Yuval Bronshtein and Norman Chad while in 2011 it would be Owais Ahmed outlasting the likes of Michael Mizrachi, Abe Mosseri and Scotty Nguyen.

In 2009, Phil Ivey won his seventh (of ten currently) WSOP bracelet while in 2007 it would be Tom Schneider winning the first of his two bracelets that year on his way to be crowned WSOP Player of the Year.

However it's not all about the winner too as George Danzer has had an impressive run in this event that includes a 2nd, 6th and 39th-place result over the past few years.
