49 Players Including Robert Mizrachi To Fight For Coveted WSOP Bracelet
Over the previous two days, 918 hopefuls have played up to 20 hours of gruelling Limit Omaha Hi-Lo poker for the chance to take home a coveted WSOP bracelet. Today, the final 49 players return, all dreaming of the $251,022 first prize but most importantly, the WSOP bracelet.
Many famous and well known names have fallen by the wayside, including Vanessa Selbst, Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer and actor James Woods, who all failed to make it past Day 1, and other players such as Allen Cunningham, Dutch Boyd, Taylor Paur and Eli Elezra, who all scored another WSOP cash to add to their titanic winnings, but were unable to survive the pace yesterday.
The most recognisable name left in the field is Robert Mizrachi, but he and 47 other players are all staring up at Kelly Vandemheen, who is way out in front of the pack with a massive 466,000 chips, nearly twice the stack of Thomas Taylor who lies second in the chip counts. Vandemheen, a small business owner from Omaha, Nebraska, has one previous cash at the WSOP, a 5th place finish in Event #30: Six-Handed NLHE in 2007, for $96,431. He will be looking to beat that cash, and win the bracelet, but the 48 remaining players will all be doing their best to stop him.
Players return at 2.00p.m. PDT to do battle, and are scheduled to play out to a winner tonight. Join us then to find out who will walk away with the first non-holdem bracelet of 2015.
