Kenneth Biggs Wins First WSOP Circuit Ring in First-Ever WSOP Tournament
Kenneth Biggs started off his WSOP Career with a bang in Event #4: $250 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Choctaw Casino and Resort, winning his first-ever WSOP Circuit ring in his first-ever WSOP tournament!
The turbo Event saw 85 entrants compete for a share of the $25,000 prize pool. Biggs, new to the WSOP circuit, demonstrated that he could battle with the best of them as he outlasted a field of 85 players. He came into the final table with a middling stack but was able to make it to heads-up play with his opponent, Lane Fielden, who finished as the runner-up, earning $4,490.
Final Table Results:
- Kenneth Biggs - $7,082
- Lane Fielden - $4,490
- Daryl Williams - $2,981
- Nicholas Gwynn - $2,077
- Rodney Spriggs - $1,523
- Benjamin Cornette - $1,178
- Justin Frederick - $965
- Stephan Guy - $839
- Chamblis Ashing - $777
“I came in sorta middle stacked," Biggs said about his win. "I got lucky and doubled up a few times and then it was just grinding through it and finding my spots. There were a couple of really good players, and they were better than me, but I was just in the right place at the right time.”
He continued, “I’ve been playing poker since about 2005. I didn’t really do many tournaments till 2015ish. But I've never played in the WSOP at all. It's always been a dream to play the Main Event, but this is the first time I’ve ever played a WSOP event at all.”
Biggs stopped at Choctaw on his way to Colorado and had only planned to play this one event before leaving tomorrow. He sure made it count, and his victory has prompted him to adjust his travel plans. He now intends to return to Choctaw in a few days to play in the Circuit Main Event.
