David Avina Wins 6-Max to Earn Second Circuit Ring

Event #6 Winner David Avina

Event #6: $400 6-Max No-Limit Hold 'em came down to a pair of Circuit ring winners, each looking for their second piece of WSOP jewelry, and in the end, it was David Avina defeating Ian Waldron heads-up  to get that second prestigious ring.

Ring number two had been a long time coming for Avina, who won his first in Tulsa in 2019.

“It feels good, I’ve been waiting to get that off my back. I’ve probably had five or six final tables since the last one, so it feels good to take one.”

Indeed, it had been six final tables since Avina’s last WSOP Circuit triumph, and he did it in front of a boisterous rail of friends, which Avina acknowledged made the victory that much sweeter.

“It definitely feels good to have the boys behind you. I love this stop, and I know a lot of those locals now, I’ve been coming here a long time, so I wouldn’t rather win it anywhere else.”

For the win, Avina takes home $16,111, the ring, and a seat in the 2024 WSOP Tournament of Champions.
