Five-Time Ring Winner Mark Smith Flops the Nut Flush, Doubles
While much of five-time ring winner Mark Smith's (pictured) attention has been on fellow five-time ring winner Kyle Cartwright two to his left, Smith tangoed with another foe opening to 3,700 from the cutoff. The button called and Cartwright folded in the small blind as did the big blind.
In a heads-up flop, Smith lead for 4,000 on a board. The button player announced "all-in" having Smith covered and pushed forward a stack of grey chips.
"I call," Smith said, tabling for the nut flush.
"Good call, Mark," Cartwright said from the rail. "I would have called there, too."
The opponent tabled and needed lots of help heading to the turn.
The board ran out officially giving Smith the pot. The dealer counted down Smith's stack to 39,000 and the opponent got the bad news, sending a pot worth more than 80,000 Smith's way.
