According to Zach Nguyen and a friend of Mike Cordell's, Cordell was recently eliminated in a massive pot to give Nguyen the chip lead.
According to the sources, a player in early position limped, Zach Nguyen raised to 12,000, Cordell reraised to 32,000 in the big blind, the original limper folded, and Nguyen shoved all in for around 250,000, having Cordell just slightly covered.

The flop was safe for Cordell, but the turn gave Nguyen the Braodway straight. The river was a blank, and Cordell was eliminated from play, while Nguyen was the first player to cross the 500,000 chip mark.
