A Look Ahead to the Hammond Headliners
In addition to the token re-entry event, the Horseshoe Casino's Circuit series is defined by two headlining tournaments -- the $1,675 Main Event and the $5,300 High Roller. The Main Event features two starting flights beginning Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23. The High Roller follows on its heels beginning Sunday, October 24.
Event #9: $1,675 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event
Just two years ago, the property's $1,675 finale drew 1,717 entries marking the largest Main Event in Circuit history. The tournament boasted a prize pool of more than $2,500,00 and saw Pennsylvania's James Dorrance turn his modest buy-in into a score of $418,526. As they did back then, players in this year's championship start with 20,000 chips and registration remains open until the start of Day 2. Unlike back then, this year's installment permits one re-entry per flight for a total of four entries into the Main Event.
Event #11: $5,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller
The $5,300 High Roller is a new addition to the Circuit repertoire. Property's slated to host events during the 2015/2016 season are given the option to run a $5,300 buy-in event if they feel it fits their market. The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. is the first one to take on the task and players and staff alike are eagerly anticipating its start. The tournament boasts a 50,000-chip starting stack and 40-minute levels throughout. Like the Main Event, registration remains open until Day 2.
