The World Series of Poker returns to Horseshoe Hammond for 19 ring events between September 19 - September 30.
Las Vegas, Nevada (September 17, 2024) - The fall is around the corner, which means that the World Series of Poker is entering a busy period of events all across the world.
The 15th annual WSOP Europe starts tomorrow, with 15 bracelet events and over $15 million in guarantees. Later this fall, the Circuit will travel to both South America and Europe while continuing its busy U.S. schedule in six different states.
Next up, Horseshoe Hammond. The Chicago series has grown to be a popular stop on the WSOP Circuit, with consistently large prize pools every time the Circuit is in town. The series will run between September 19 - 30, featuring 19 ring events and over $2 million in guarantees.
The series will start off strong, with a five-flight $400 No-Limit Hold'em event boosted with a $500,000 guarantee. The same event drew a whopping 2,705 entries earlier this year, generating a total prize pool of $892,650, with the winner, Tom Hahne, taking home $119,650.
Mixed-game enthusiasts will have to circle September 24 on the calendar to participate in the one mixed-game of the series, the $400 H.O.R.S.E. Other highlights on the schedule include the $400 Omaha 8 (Sept. 23), $2,200 High Roller (Sept. 29), and the $1,700 MAIN EVENT.
The marquee event of the series is boosted with a $1 million guarantee, and players will have three flights to choose from. Flight A will have cards in the air on Thursday, September 26, followed by Flights B and C on the two following days.
Last year, the Main Event drew 986 entries, generating a total prizepool just shy of $1.5 million. Twelve-time ring winner Soheb Porbandarwala emerged victorious, taking home $257,725 - the biggest live cash of his career.
