22 September 2022 (Council Bluffs, IA) - After three years the World Series of Poker Circuit is back at Horseshoe Council Bluffs with 13 gold ring events and action is in full effect without missing a beat. A week has gone by in Iowa and eight brand new WSOP Circuit champions have been crowned thus far, with five more events left on the schedule.
For the second season in a row there will be a Tournament of Champions in July 2023 with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Every WSOP Circuit ring and bracelet winner will earn themselves a seat into this event, which will take place after the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas.
The first week of events included a bounty, the popular multi-flight event, a six-max tournament, and a pot-limit omaha event sprinkled among the many no-limit hold'em options. Prize pools exceeded past years and first place has paid out more than five figures in all but one event so far.
Among the many deep runs for familiar faces this week, two players have stood out with consistent results already. Local WSOP Circuit champion Ryan Phan has cashed six out of eight events with two final tables, and WSOP Champion Frankie Zeta from Pennsylvania has also made two final tables with five cashes ranging between 3rd and 17th place.
