CHOCTAW CIRCUIT SERIES BEGINS WEDNESDAY

Durant property hosts the first stop on the 2019-2020 WSOP Circuit, two Global Casino Championship berths up for grabs.

Durant, Ok. (July 15, 2019) The World Series of Poker Circuit continues this Wednesday, July 17 at Choctaw in Durant, Ok. for the 1st of 35 stops on the 2019/2020 schedule. Up for grabs at the Midwest property will be 13 gold rings, two Global Casino Championship berths and an expected six-figure first prize that heads to the Main Event champion.

Open-event action kicks off with a $400 No-limit Hold’em tournament while opening weekend is headlined by a multi-flight re-entry event. A Circuit staple, the tournament features six starting flights and permits unlimited re-entry through the registration period. Last year’s installment of the event saw Texan Wesley Cutshall navigate his way through a field of more than 2,000 to transform his $400 buy-in into a six-figure score of over $107,000 and his first gold ring.

Other events set to grace this year’s Choctaw schedule includes a $400 Congress (5-Card Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo) tournament and of course the $1,700 Main Event. The first starting flight in the Championship event begins Friday, July 26 and is followed by the second and final flight the very next day. Players are permitted a total of one re-entry per flight. In addition to the largest score of the 12-day series, the Main Event Champion heads home with a Circuit gold ring and a berth in the Global Casino Championship where they’ll compete for their share of a minimum $1 million prize pool and a WSOP bracelet. Choctaw hosted two stops during the 2018/2019 circuit. November's Main Event witnessed Oregon native Max Young defeat Jared Hemingway to earn $263,815 and his fifth career ring. Month's later, Dave Alfa bested a field of over 1,100 in Janurary's Main Event to earn $320,998 and his second career ring.
