Day 2 of the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Circuit Main Event is set to get underway Sunday at noon
COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA (April 6, 2019) -- Flight B has concluded and that means Day 1 of the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Circuit Main Event is complete. Flight B drew 165 entries, bringing the total number of entries in the tournament to 273. The tournament generated a $413,595 prizepool and $99,267 of that will be going to the winner. In addition, the winner will earn a WSOP Circuit ring and a free entry to the $1 Million Guaranteed 2019 Global Casino Championship.
Saturday's flight B saw 30 players survive the 15 levels and put chips in the bag. They will join the 17 Flight A survivors Sunday at noon for the start of Day 2. Only the top 30 of the 47 returning players will cash. Everyone reaching the money is guaranteed a minimum payday of $2,804.

Bagging the Flight B chip lead and heading into Day 2 as the overall chip leader is Kevin Nguyen. Nguyen busted Friday's Flight A, but came back strong Saturday to bag 407,500 chips. Nguyen sailed through Flight B, holding the chip lead for the majority of the second half of the day. He’s the only player returning for Day 2 over the 400,000 chip mark.
Bagging the second largest stack in Flight B was Greg Jennings with 342,000. He will be returning for Day 2 fourth in chips, only behind Nguyen and Flight A’s top two stacks – Nicholas Burris (346,500) and Kyle McKinney (343,000).
Rounding out the top five counts for Day 2 is nine-time Circuit ring winner Ari Engel. Engel had a rough go in Flight A, firing twice and coming up empty both times. He found much more success today in Flight B and bagged 321,500 chips, good for fifth overall heading into Day 2.
Engel wasn’t the only player to turn a bad Flight A into a good Flight B. Nick Pupillo also busted twice Friday and came back Saturday to bag 257,000 in chips. Three-time Horseshoe Council Bluffs Circuit Main Event champion turned a Flight A elimination into a Flight B bag. He bagged 189,000 chips. Blair won’t be the only Hinkle returning for Day 2. Brother Mason, AKA Uncle Ron, made it through Flight B with 117,000 chips.
Others moving on to Day 2 include Hamid Izadi (276,000), Mike Fouts (265,000), Will Berry (240,500), Yashveen Mudireddy (149,500), Pam Belote (117,000), and Dustin Lee.
