O'Brien overtook Joshua Hood for the overall chip lead on Day 1B to pace the 162 remaining players heading to Day 2
Coconut Creek, FL (22 September 2016) - The two starting flights are in the books at the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Seminole Coconut Creek.
The
$1,700 no-limit Hold’em tournament attracted 735 entries that created a
prize pool of $1,113,525 easily surpassing the $1,000,000 guarantee.
The eventual champion will take home a first place prize worth $222,691. On
top of that, the tournament’s winner earns a gold ring and a berth in
the prestigious Global Casino Championship where they’ll compete for a
WSOP bracelet.
Following
two starting flights over two consecutive days, the field is down to
162 players with Harry O'Brien leading the way. O'Brien lays claim to a
monster stack of 589,500 and has a slight lead on Day 1A chip leader
Joshua Hood's second place stack of 536,000.

Wong (120,000) is still in the hunt and looking for his second ring of
the series after winning the High Roller yesterday for 48,300.
Kammar Andries, the defending champion, fell late on Day 1B so there will be a new champion when all is said and done.

With
these names on the rail, it’s on to Day 2 in Coconut Creek, FL. The
remaining players take their seats Sunday at 12 p.m. with blinds of 2,000/4,000 with a 500 ante and just the top
81 finishing in the money. A min cash will be good for $2,773, but everybody has their sights set on the $222,691 first-place money. Levels will be increased to 60 minutes for the duration of the tournament and Day 2 is scheduled to play 10, 60-minute levels before bagging up for the night and playing to a winner on Monday afternoon.
