Ring events run from October 30-November 12 with 13 rings being awarded over 13 days
Durant, OK (October 30, 2018) -The World Series of Poker Circuit is making its first of two stops at Choctaw Casino Resort starting on Wednesday. There will be 13 rings awarded over 13 days and as with every stop, there will be two players automatically qualified for the Global Casino Championship.
The series runs from October 31-November 12 with the action kicking off on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. It marks the start of the $250 no-limit hold’em double stack WSOP kickoff event. It is a two-day event that carries a $100,000 guaranteed prizepool.
That is just the warmup for the massive multi-flight re-entry event that starts on Thursday. The $400 no-limit hold’em re-entry carries a $500,000 guarantee on the prizepool and will have two flights a day for three days before they play to a winner on Sunday.
The rest of the series are mostly no-limit hold’em events with either $400 or $600 buy-ins. The only non-hold’em event on the schedule closes out the first weekend of the series. On Sunday, November 4 at 5 p.m., there is a $400 pot-limit Omaha event that crowns a winner on Monday.
Other events that highlight the Choctaw schedule are the $400 no-limit hold’em six-max, two $400 no-limit hold’em bounty events, and a $400 no-limit hold’em monster stack. As always, the Circuit’s marquee event, the $1,700 no-limit hold’em main event, closes out the series.
There are two starting flights for the main event, with Day 1A starting at noon on Friday, November 9 and Day 1B getting cards in the air at the same time on Saturday, November 10. They will play Day 2 on Sunday, November 11 and crown a champion on the final day of the series, Monday, November 12. Players are allowed one re-entry for each starting flight, which gives them a maximum of four bullets to fire. This stop’s main event carries a $1,000,000 guaranteed prizepool.
Last year at this stop, Dan Lowery defeated a 908-entry main event field to win his sixth ring and $258,784. The winner of this year's main event will receive an automatic seat into next season’s Global Casino Championship. The player who wins the stop’s Casino Championship will receive the other guaranteed seat from the stop. In order to win the Casino Champion title, earn the most points in the series' 13 ring events. Points can only be earned in ring events and the player with the most points at the end of the two weeks will earn a seat into the 2019 GCC.
