One of the biggest stops of the Circuit season run ring events Wednesday, November 1 through Monday, November 13
Durant, Ok. (October 30, 2017) - Over the past several years, Choctaw Casino and Resort has consistently been one of the bigger stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit. This season, there are two stops in Durant, OK and the first one gets underway on Wednesday afternoon.
The first of 12 ring events over the course of almost two weeks gets cards in the air at noon with the first of four flights in the $365 no-limit hold’em Monster stack event. The first event is the sole focus of the first two days of action and will wrap up with a winner on Saturday afternoon.
The second event of the series kicks off on Friday and is also a four-flight event. Over Friday and Saturday, there will be four flights of the $365 no-limit hold’em re-entry event. What should be the biggest event of the series will wrap up on Monday afternoon.
There is a single-day $365 no-limit hold’em event on Sunday and then the middle of the series features several two-day events leading up to the Circuit’s signature event, the $1,675 no-limit hold’em Main Event. These events include no-limit hold’em events with buy-ins ranging from $365 to $1,125, a $365 Big O, a $365 no-limit hold’em six-max event and an $1,125 pot-limit Omaha.
The pot-limit Omaha event is one of only two non-hold’em events on the schedule and is the precursor to the main event. Last year, the only stop at Choctaw drew 1,451 entries and Grant Hinkle bested the field to earn his spot in the Global Casino Championship and $375,427.
The main event is the penultimate event Just like every other main event on the Circuit, there are two starting flights and every player can re-enter once on each flight, which gives every player a maximum of four bullets at the most coveted ring of the series. The first flight starts at noon on Friday and Day 1B kicks off at the same time on Saturday.
The series concludes with a multi-flight $365 no-limit hold’em. There are three starting flights and a $100,000 guaranteed prizepool. Day 1A and Day 1B run concurrently with the main event. Day 1A kicks off at noon on Saturday and Day 1B starts at 5 p.m. Both the main event and the $365 no-limit hold’em both wrap up on Monday evening.
There are two non-ring events at the series with a $250 ladies event on Sunday, November 5 at noon and a $250 Seniors event at noon the following day.
