Second half of the 2016/17 WSOP Circuit tour begins in Mississippi.
Tunica, Miss. (January 17, 2017) -- The
World Series of Poker Circuit has completed the first 10
of 22 stops for the 2016-2017 tour, and will successfully reach the halfway mark with the conclusion of the Choctaw Durant series this coming Monday. Kicking off the second half of the tour is the twelfth stop on the schedule, which will be held at Horseshoe Tunica in northern Mississippi.
Cards will be in the air Thursday, January 19th, with a $365 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo tournament. The
ever-popular No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry event with three starting
flights begins the following morning (Jan. 20th) with Flight A, and Flight B later in the afternoon. There
will be 12 gold ring events total, including the $1,675 Main Event that
commences Friday, January 27th. The Main Event will conclude Monday, January 30th, bringing the Horseshoe Tunica Circuit to a close.
Last year's Circuit Main Event at Horseshoe Tunica saw David Kruger, a Slater, Missouri resident, claim his first WSOP Circuit gold ring and a top-prize of $198,657 after defeating a field of 646 entrants.
The
winner of the Main Event and the Casino Champion will each earn a seat
to the 2017 Global Casino Championship. There they will compete for a
minimum $1 million prizepool, as well as a gold bracelet. To become the
Casino Champion a player must earn the most points at a given Circuit
stop. Players
earn points based on how well they finish in a tournament. More
