WSOP CIRCUIT HEADS BACK TO BALTIMORE

The 2016/2017 WSOP Circuit season is nearing the finish line, and the time left to collect Global Casino Championship points is running out. There are just two stops remaining this season, with Horseshoe Baltimore set to host the first of those two. The tour returns to Maryland from Thursday, March 27 through Monday, May 8.

Horseshoe Baltimore is one of the newest and most modern casinos on the WSOP Circuit. The $442 million property was built in 2014 on the heels of favorable new legislation in Maryland. It has 122,000 square feet of gaming space, including a WSOP-branded poker room, and it features three premier restaurants and several lounges and bars. Considering it's baseball season, it's worth noting that the property is situated on the fringes of downtown Baltimore, practically in the shadows of the Orioles' Camden Yards. The nearby Federal Hill and Inner Harbor neighborhoods provide plenty of other options for dining and nightlife, too.

Six months after the property's grand opening, the WSOP Circuit made its debut, with Chris Csik defeating a field of 670 entries to win the first-ever $1,675 Main Event in Maryland and the top prize of more than $200,000. The success of that inaugural series gave Baltimore two slots on last season's schedule, with Ting Xiao and Joseph Cappello winning the Main Events in August 2015 and April 2016, respectively.

This visit to Horseshoe Baltimore is the fourth for the WSOP Circuit, and the schedule once again features 12 gold ring events over the 12-day span. In addition to the flagship Main Event, there are also a pair of turbos on the schedule, along with a six-max event, a pot-limit Omaha event, and the return of the popular Monster Stack.

The full schedule is available on the Circuit's landing page.

As is the case for all stops on the WSOP Circuit, there are also two seats to the WSOP Global Casino Championship on the line. The Main Event winner will claim one, while the player who accumulates the most overall points earns the other one and the title of Casino Champion. Additionally, all players who cash in official ring events earn points that apply toward the season-long race to claim one of the limited at-large bids. Special room rates are being offered at the adjacent Holiday Inn Express starting as low as $99 per night.
