PBKC MAIN EVENT - DAY 1 RECAP

The final Day 1 flight for the Palm Beach Kennel Club Main Event drew 355 entrants and after 15 levels of action only 67 players survived the flight. Shawn Nguyen (pictured) leads the overall tournament with 325,500 chips in the bag.

Eric Bunch (289,000), Rob Brown (287,000) and Staffan Lind (280,500) round out the largest stacks of Day 1 B. A.J Kelsall, Steven Snyder, Tristan Wade and Juan Mendoza all bagged up stacks north of 200,000.

Ryan D'Angelo, Adam Levy, Aaron Massey, Jonathan Hilton, Loni Harwood, William Kopp and Tony Ruberto didn't finish with huge stacks, but will be gunning for the 63 spots that pay.

Phillip Hui, Justin Zaki, David Diaz, Rex Clinkscales, Ralph Massey, Jerry Yang and Ardit Kurshumi all spent four bullets on the the event but did not advance to Day 2. None, however, did it quite as fast as high stakes player James Calderaro - he was in and out (twice) inside one level.

The combined field of 116 players sit together for the first time on Sunday and they'll be playing for the 63 positions that make the money. Cards will be in the air promptly at noon and they'll play ten levels regardless of where the field finishes.
