HORSESHOE BALTIMORE MAIN EVENT
Day 1B of the World Series of Poker Main Event at The Horseshoe in Baltimore Maryland has just concluded. The chip leader of this flight is Eugene Fouksman (pictured) who bagged up 293,500. Rounding out the top three are: Craig Varnell (274,000), and Philip Shing (231,500).

Varnell led the chip counts for most of Day 1B, but fell just short near the end of the night. He was also close to bagging the chip lead for Flight 1A, but then lost a huge hand to Chad J. Brown, who after that hand went on to bag the chip lead of the first flight. Brown will be atop the leaderboard going into Day 2 with 296,500. Fouksman will start the day in second with 293,500, and Robert Kuhn, fresh off of his Main Event victory in Harrah's Atlantic City, in third with 281,000.

Other players advancing to Day 2 from today’s flight 1B included: Joe Kuether (234,000), Alex Rocha (218,000), Maurice Hawkins (173,500), Cate Hall (149,000), Steve Dannenmann (135,500), Christian Harder (132,000), James Caldero (123,000), and Jared Jaffe (100,000).

Some of the notable players eliminated from play today included: Chris Tryba, Vincent Moscati, Mike Wang, Greg Raymer, current Main Event champion Joe McKeehen, and WSOP Circuit ring winners Ari Engel and Greg Himmelbrand.

Day 1A of this event attracted 324 players on Friday, and another 570 registered today (Day 1B) for a grand total of 894 entries. A total of 173 players advanced to Day 2 (64 from Friday and 109 from tonight). The total prizepool is a guaranteed $1,500,000, and the official payouts and prizepool should be released before the start of Day 2.

In addition to the first-place prize money, the winner of the Main Event will also earn a free entry into 2016 WSOP Global Casino Championship. That invitation-only event will have a minimum prizepool of $1,000,000, and the free entry is valued at $10,000.

Play resumes Sunday at noon for Day 2.
