CIRCUIT HEADS BACK TO HAMMOND FOLLOWING RECORD-BREAKING 2013
Season's premiere stop boasts 12 gold ring events October 16-27.

Hammond, Ind. (October 13, 2014) — The World Series of Poker Circuit returns to Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. for the fifth stop of the 2014/2015 tour. Action kicks off this Thursday, October 16 and gold ring events run non-stop until the Main Event final table concludes Monday, October 27.

Located just south of Chicago, Horseshoe Hammond has earned a reputation as being one of the premiere stops if not the premiere stop  on the Circuit schedule. In 2011 the property hosted a 3,001-entry no-limit hold’em re-entry event that marks the largest field in Circuit history. The eventual winner, Aaron Bieck, transformed his $350 buy-in into a $124,000 first prize — more than 355 times his investment.

Looking back to last year, the property set another record — largest Main Event in Circuit history. The 1,717-entry field surpassed the previous record of 1,615 set by the property in 2011 and saw James Dorrance best the field to earn nearly $420,000.

This year’s series looks to keep pace with those numbers with a schedule that begins with the trademark Circuit re-entry event.

These individuals earn automatic entry into the season-ending event where they’ll compete for their share of an up-to $2 million prize pool and a gold bracelet.

Players traveling to the Hammond series are encouraged to fly into Chicago’s Midway airport located about 30 miles northwest of the property. Lodging options include Courtyard Chicago Southeast/Hammond, Ind. and the Fairfield Inn and Suites Chicago/Southeast, Ind. Both hotels are located about 10 miles from the Horseshoe.
