Tunica, MS (January 21, 2014) - The high-stakes action of the World Series of Poker returns to the Mid-South when Harrah’s Tunica hosts the WSOP Circuit beginning this Thursday and running through Monday, February 3. One of the Circuit’s flagship stops, over $35 million in prize money has been awarded at Harrah’s Tunica since it hosted its first Circuit in 2005.
The series kicks off with a $365 no-limit hold’em event while, Event 3, a re-entry event, headlines opening weekend. Last year’s re-entry event drew 1,271 entries and generated over $380,000 in prize money.
The Main Event begins Friday, February 1. Ryan Stevenson, a 26-year-old engineer from Horn Lake, Mississippi outlasted last year’s Main Event field of 666 entrants to take home $204,795 a Circuit ring and a berth in the National Championship.

In addition to the official 12 ring events, nightly 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. tournaments will be held through February 2 with buy-ins starting at just $135 and will include variations such as H.O.R.S.E. and Omaha. As with other WSOP Circuit stops, players can earn points through each of the 12 official ring events at Harrah’s Tunica to qualify them for a seat to the WSOP National Championship to be held in Atlantic City this spring. The National Championship is an official WSOP bracelet event which will be nationally televised on ESPN and feature an up-to $2 million prize pool.
