The Horseshoe Southern Indiana has always been Patty Till’s
home casino. The 52-year old from
Brownsburg, IN is a regular feature at the Horseshoe for both cash games and
tournaments. In fact, Till won her first
ever WSOP Circuit ring last year at the HSI Circuit series. With 20 career Circuit cashes, over half of
them have been right here in Southern Indiana.
In the 2013 Horseshoe Southern Indiana series, Till had a
full schedule of events planned. Making
a run at the Casino Champion was at the top of her list of priorities. By the end of the series, she had cashed in
five of the twelve ring events and ended up running away with the Casino
Champion title.
Her run at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana started off with a
bang. In just the fourth event of the
series, Till defeated a field of 108 players in a single day to win the $365
No-Limit Hold ‘em Turbo event. Till
pocketed $9,720 and her second career WSOP Circuit ring for her win.
Just two days later, Till did something that is rarely seen
on the Circuit, she cashed at two final tables in the same day. First, she final tabled Event 5, the $365
No-Limit Hold ‘em Six-Handed, and ended up finishing fourth for $4,516.
Upon her elimination, Till entered the $365 Pot-Limt Omaha
with Rebuys. The event, originally
planned for two days, ended up playing down fast enough that it wrapped on the
same day it started. Till ended up
making the final table once again and was eliminated in fourth place for the
second time in the same day, this time for $4,479.
Two final tables and fourth place finishes on the same day
not only netted Till almost $9,000 in earnings, but 55 additional Casino
Championship points. The 105 points she
had already accumulated put her in a commanding position to take the title.
Till didn’t want to take the chance of somebody catching her
though. She entered Day 1B of the Main
Event and had yet another deep run that netted her additional points with a 28th
place finish, good for $3,021.
Despite almost assuredly having enough points for the title,
Till registered for the final event in the series, the $365 No-Limit Hold ‘em
event at the same time she was still in the Main Event. Upon her elimination from the Main Event,
Till went back to the $365 NLHE field and ended up being eliminated on the
final hand of the night. However, her 10th
place finish was good for $727 and her second double cash day of the series.
When the dust settled at the end of the series, Till had
accumulated 120 Casino Championship points on five cashes and $22,463 in
earnings.
“This is the first place I played a tournament, if I was
going to win a Casino Championship, I wanted to win it here,” Till said after
officially named the winner, “First ring here, first Casino Championship for
me, a lot of first for me here at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana.”
“The dealers and staff here are great and they just make it
feel like home. My friends Jeff and
Allen are always here rooting me on as well. My daughter Michaela is always
supporting me as well. With owning a business, I don’t get to travel too much,
so being able to win the Casino Championship here is extra special, “ Till
said.
On playing upcoming any other upcoming Circuit events, Till
said “I will definitely play Hammond and Tunica and then I might try to make
Palm Beach since I have family there.”
Now, Till can start planning for the WSOP National
Championship in Atlantic City. On the
event, Till mentioned, “I have four brothers and a sister and in May we always
have an outing for just the siblings.
This year, we are having it in Atlantic City now!”
So, look out players, Patty Till has earned her seat to the WSOP
National Championship and she is bringing a rail with her.
