WSOP EUROPE JUST DAYS AWAY
World Series of Poker Europe Just Two Weeks Away

7th ANNUAL WSOP EUROPE OFFERING 50+ EVENTS OCTOBER 11-25 in PARIS

LAS VEGAS/PARIS, France – September 27, 2013 – What do you get when you mix the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, champagne, crepes and poker players from around the globe?

We aren’t sure either, but we are excited to find out in just two short weeks as the World Series of Poker Europe moves to the historical and beautiful city of Paris, France for the 7th Annual World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) taking place October 11-25, 2013.

Eight official WSOP gold bracelet events will take place, including first-ever Ladies and High Roller events, plus more than four dozen side events during the two-week poker festival.

“Between Barrière’s year-round efforts and new support from 888 Poker, we anticipate more than 150 satellite qualifiers for the €10,450 WSOPE Main Event alone,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “We expect a terrific turnout for the entire WSOPE given the population base in Paris, travel options from major European cities and adjacent tournament scheduling. We are planning for this to be the biggest WSOPE to date. As they say in France, C’est bon.”

Home base will be the historic settings of the Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains, a 100-year-old lakeside casino. In addition to the casino setting, the majority of play will take place across the street at the Convention Center known as “Pergola Nova” which will allow for all regular tournament play to be in the same room for the very first time at a WSOP Europe event.

Two main hotels surround the casino and convention center, the Grand Hotel Barrière and the Barrière Hotel du Lac, which is where we encourage players to make their room reservations to be walking distance from the playing areas.  Rates, including breakfast, in-room internet access and fitness center privileges begin at €165 a night.  There are a limited number of rooms on-site remaining.  Players should go here to make reservations:  http://wsope.lilievents.com/#tab-Hotel

Television and live streaming coverage of the events are planned.  Live web streaming begins on Tuesday, October 15 with final table action of the No-Limit Hold’em re-entry event.  Veteran play-by-play announcer David Tuchman will call the action alongside a rotating cast of player analysts.  Follow @WSOP on Twitter for live stream links and start times.  Seven WSOPE events are planned to be web streamed on WSOP.com, PokerListings.com and 888Poker.TV.

The WSOPE High Roller and WSOPE Main Event will also be taped for television broadcast. Both Eurosport throughout Europe, and ESPN across North America are planning multiple-hour coverage of these prestigious events.
Phil Hellmuth, the 13-time WSOP gold bracelet winner, looks to defend his WSOPE Main Event crown.

For the first time, players may use credit cards to purchase event buy ins. Access the Living it Loving it special WSOP Europe site here: www.wsope.lilievents.com

For players looking to wire transfer money in advance, please contact Daniel Vogel at [email protected] or reach out to him @lvdvogel on Twitter to get specific routing instructions.

There are several transportation options for players as well.  A special rate has been negotiated with Uber car service for travel to and from Enghien, including airport pick-ups and drop offs.  By downloading the Uber smartphone app, players will receive a €20 Euro credit by entering promo code “WSOP”, with pre-negotiated rates from CDG airport of €70, and Orly airport to Enghien for €90.  These are flat rates and include all taxes, tolls and tips.  Uber car service will also be available to players throughout the WSOPE to get to and from Enghien and any destination they choose.

Additionally, complimentary van and bus service will also be made available to WSOPE players.  A bus will depart the tournament area nightly at 8 PM and drop off in Paris’ central business district.  This service continues non-stop throughout the evening, with the last bus leaving Enghien nightly at 1:00 am, timed to coincide with the end of the day’s play.

A van service from the tournament area to the Enghien-les-Bains train stop will also run continuously.  Look for the specially-marked van with WSOPE insignias and identify yourself as a WSOPE player to be taken from the train station to the tournament area or vice versa.
