CHRIS RESLOCK WINS RECORD SEVENTH WSOP GOLD RING

CHESTER, PA (May 5, 2013) – Chris Reslock made WSOP Circuit history Sunday night at Harrah’s Philadelphia after winning his seventh WSOP Circuit gold ring in Event 11, $365 No-Limit Hold’em.

Just three days ago, the 65-year-old retired taxi cab owner/operator and poker pro from Atlantic City won his sixth Circuit Title at Harrah’s Philly, tying Alex Masek in all-time wins. He has now surpassed the 27-year-old San Diego law student and sits solely atop of the all-time leaderboard. His latest Circuit Event win earned him $8,820.

The win marks Reslock’s third in as many months. In March, he won his fifth WSOP Circuit gold ring in the $580 No-Limit Hold’em event at Caesars Atlantic City.  Here is a list of Reslock’s seven Circuit titles.

2012/2013 WSOP Circuit Events - Harrah's Philadelphia - Event 11: $365 No-Limit Hold'em 5/5/2013 $8,820
2012/2013 WSOP Circuit Events - Harrah's Philadelphia - Event 6: $580 No-Limit Hold'em 5/1/2013 $18,200
2012/2013 WSOP Circuit Events - Caesars Atlantic City - Event 3: $580 No-Limit Hold'em 3/3/2013 $25,480
2010/2011 – WSOP Circuit Event Harrah's Atlantic City - $350 Seven Card Stud 12/17/2010 $7,816
2007/2008 WSOP Circuit Event - Grand Casino Tunica
Event 5: Omaha Eight or Better 1/7/2008 $30,860
2005/2006 WSOP Circuit Event - Harrah's Atlantic City - $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 2/10/2006 $82,170
2005/2006 WSOP Circuit Event - Showboat Atlantic City - $9,700 No-Limit Hold'em 12/6/2005 $335,235

What makes Reslock’s success even more incredible is the frequency of his Circuit play. Reslock plays almost exclusively on the east coast and has only participated in three Circuit stops this season.

When pressed about his game selection, Reslock stated that money management was the major factor. After a disappointing 2012 WSOP, he scaled back on big buy-in tournaments and has been enjoying success at his current level of play. He stated that he is still deciding whether to make the trip back to Las Vegas this year to play in the 2013 WSOP.

He may be swayed however, by the fact that with his win in Event 11, he has now secured a seat to this year’s WSOP National Championship sponsored by Southern Comfort 100 proof. He is a lock to earn a seat by virtue of his current lead in the Casino Championship points race at Harrah’s Philadelphia or through the 150 points he now has in the overall National Championship points race.

The Casino Champion is the player who earns the most points through the 12 events at Harrah’s Philadelphia. This player will earn an automatic seat to the WSOP Circuit National Championship to be held May 22– May 24 at Harrah’s New Orleans. More information about the WSOPC National Championship can be found here. An explanation of the points system can be found here.
