COREY HARRISON TEACHES A LESSON TO THE $1.5K FIELD
After a lightning fast start to the day, it ended up being a crawl to the finish line for the latest gold bracelet winner Corey Harrison. The third and final day of play in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Event 24 at the WSOP sped to a final table in lightning speed, but the final table itself was a long one, lasting over 200 hands before Harrison emerged victorious with a bracelet and a $432,411 payday.

The 36-year-old college professor from Birmingham, Alabama got a lesson in patience to go along with his big cash prize, as the slow pace of the final table tested all the players' mental toughness and fortitude.  Harrison spends his days teaching students, but does find time to play some cards.  This is second career WSOP cash, with his first coming in another $1,500 buy-in No Limit Event last week where he took 29th place.  Harrison also has four Circuit cashes to his credit, including a final table last month in New Orleans.

Harrison defeated Daniel Cascado heads-up for the title.  Cascado, who currently reside in the UK, spent much of the final table as chip leader, but was unable to close out the win this time around, instead collecting $267,452 for second place.

This $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event drew 1,731 players and generated a $2,336,850 prize pool. The top 198 players made the money, including Jim McManus (154th), Jeff Madsen (123rd), Steve Zolotow (92nd), Rob Salaburu (70th), Paul Wasicka (31st), Shannon Shorr (30th), Victor Ramdin (22nd), and Arkadiy Tsinis (19th).

While the final table did not include any previous bracelet winners, it did feature two European Poker Tour Champs, Zimnan Ziyard (7th) and Mohsin Charania (6th), WSOP Circuit Main Event final tablist Salvatore Dicarlo (3rd), and Paul Spitzberg, who became the eighth player of the summer to make multiple final tables with his fourth place finish. He previously finished fourth in the opening Casino Employees event this summer.
