RING EVENT SCHEDULE COUNTS TOWARDS WSOP NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
LAS VEGAS (Feb. 7, 2013) – The World Series of Poker announced
today the addition of a brand new WSOP Circuit stop, at The Lodge Casino at Black Hawk in Colorado.
The Lodge
WSOP Circuit stop will take place from March 14-25, 2013 and include 12
official WSOP Circuit ring events, along with a host of side action.
The Lodge
Casino at Black Hawk is approximately 50 minutes from Denver, Colorado. Plenty of parking is available at The Lodge
along with scheduled service bus transportation from Denver to the casino and
back.
“We know
there are a lot of poker players in the Rocky Mountain region and we’re excited
to bring the WSOP experience exclusively to The Lodge Casino at Black Hawk,”
said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel.
A
points-ranking system for all ring tournament participants will be used and
reward those players who participate in multiple events, with the Top 100
players qualifying for the Southern
Comfort 100 World Series of Poker National Championship (May 22-24, 2013 in
New Orleans).
Each
WSOP Circuit stop Main Event winner will receive an automatic berth into the Southern Comfort 100 World Series of Poker National
Championship. Automatic bids will also go to the “Casino Champion.” A Casino
Champion is defined as the player at each stop whom accumulates the most points
throughout the 12-event gold ring schedule.
The
stop concludes with a $1,675 buy-in Main Event Championship slated to start on Friday,
March 22, 2013. The Main Event will be played as re-entry, with a morning
and an evening flight available to players with an additional third starting
flight on Saturday, March 23 to accommodate the expected turnout.
The
full event schedule can be viewed HERE.
This WSOP
Circuit Stop encompasses the dates originally slated for Horseshoe Cleveland,
whose event was postponed to Fall as part of the 2013-14 WSOP Circuit season.
