WSOP CIRCUIT RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY NOVEMBER 29
Atlantic City, NJ (November 27, 2012) — The 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof will return to Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City November 29. The series marks the ninth consecutive year the property has hosted a WSOP Circuit event.

A staple on the Circuit schedule, events at Harrah’s Resort are historically well attended. Last year, Event 2, a $345 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry tournament, drew 888 entrants only days after Event 1 drew 704.

The 2012-13 schedule will again feature a re-entry tournament. The first of two start days for the $365 buy-in event will begin Friday, November 20 at 12 p.m. EST. The second begins Saturday also at 12 p.m.

Other notable events on the Harrah’s Resort AC schedule include Event 7, a $1,125 No-Limit Hold’em tournament on Thursday, December 6 and a $1,100 satellite to the WSOP Main Event to take place at Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino in July 2013 on Monday, December 10.

The $1,675 Harrah’s Resort Main Event begins Saturday, December 8. The first starting flight begins at 11 a.m. and the second begins at 7 p.m. the same day.

The final table will be streamed on a five-minute delay on ESPN3 with commentary by WSOP Circuit host Bernard Lee on Monday, December 10.

Last year’s Main Event champion was Tuan Phan from Vienna, VA. The tournament drew 618 entrants, a whopping 75 percent more than the previous year’s and anointing it the largest Main Event ever held on the Jersey Shore.

Phan was awarded $188,830 for winning what was his first WSOP tournament ever entered.

The 2012-13 series runs through December 10 and will crown 12 champions as well award two seats to the season-ending $1 million WSOP National Championship presented by Southern Comfort 100 Proof to take place May 2013 in New Orleans.

Last year’s Casino Champion was Hao Le from Fairfax, VA. Le recorded second and third-place finishes to edge out Jeffrey Gurfinkel for the honors.

Harrah’s Resort AC was the first property to host a Circuit event in January of 2005. Nine years later, the property remains one of just four to have hosted a Circuit event during each of the nine seasons. The other properties to do so are Harrah’s Rincon, Harrah’s New Orleans and Harveys Lake Tahoe.
