Photo Caption: Former WSOP gold bracelet winner Vanessa Selbst ranks fifth in chips going into the final day of Event #2 -- the $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament. Only 15 players remain alive out of 2,101 starters. Should Selbst go on to win, she would break the dubious streak of no-female winners in open events over the past four years. In fact, she was the last female to win a gold bracelet.

NEWS FLASH! WSOP FINAL DAY WAGERING BEGINS WEDNESDAY Imagine this – betting on the outcome of a WSOP gold bracelet event. Now, it’s possible. For the first time ever, virtually all WSOP gold bracelet event final playing sessions will have odds posted. The opening line is expected to come out each morning, a few hours prior to the start of the final day’s action. Odds are based on chip counts entering the final day, as well as calculated chances of the player winning. Bettors may wager up to $1,000 on the outcome of any finale.
The WSOP wager is essentially a “futures” bet. Final-day wagering options may include nine players -- as is the case when a standard final table is set. This will occur when the final-table participants are known entirely entering the last day. When there are more players returning for the last day, odds will still be available on each player. Hence, futures will be available on all players entering the final day of most gold bracelet events.
Wagering is accepted at any Caesars Entertainment property in Las Vegas. Moreover, for the first time – a special wagering station has been set up close to the tournament area. The “WSOP sportsbook” is located in what’s called the Rotunda, immediately outside the front entrance to Pavilion. The “WSOP sportsbook” accepts not only WSOP wagers, but bets on sporting events, as well. Note: Horseracing action will not be accepted at this location.

WSOP officials agreed yesterday to leave the two busiest public restrooms as they were originally designated -- “Male” and “Female.” The well-intended experiment to turn both of these facilities – located in the main hallway across from the Total Reward Center -- into Male restrooms created problems, and so changes were made. Note that in order to accommodate the larger number of Male players in poker events, the restrooms located on the far east side of the convention center will both be designated exclusively for Males.
Single-table satellites are being held 24/7 inside the Pavilion. All satellite winners receive $500 buy-in tournament chips. WSOP cashier advises that safety deposit boxes are filling up fast. Players are encouraged to come to the WSOP Main Cage soon if they are interested in obtaining a secure box for cash, chips, and valuables.
No gold bracelet ceremony will be held today.
