A star-studded field of 451 players entered the first event of the 2007 World Series of Poker, presented by Milwaukee’s Best Light.
At the end of Day One, there are 19 former WSOP gold bracelet winners still in contention. Ninety-five players remain.
Only one former world champion remains, Johnny Chan (1987 and 1988 champ). He is vying for his record 11th win in this event. However, he is low on chips at the moment.
Six women remain alive, including one of the chip leaders. Currently ranked third in chips is Sabyl Cohen. She was the highest female finisher in the 2006 main event, last year. She finished 56th.
The current chip leader is Greg Mueller, aka “FBT.” The Canadian poker player has cashed seven times at the WSOP. His best showing was seventh-place in 2005.
Play resumes on Saturday, June 2nd at 2 pm PST.
