Global Casino Championship 2018 - WSOP Circuit

In 2018, the WSOP Global Casino Championship will return to Harrah’s Cherokee in the beautiful Smoky Mountains region of North Carolina. This is now the fourth year in a row that Harrah’s Cherokee has hosted this prestigious bracelet event, which will run from August 7-9.

QUALIFYING FOR THE GCC FOR FREE

The Global Casino Championship is an exclusive, invitation-only tournament. There is a minimum prize pool of $1,000,000, most players receive free entries. For each Circuit stop this season, the Main Event winner and the Casino Champion each receive a free seat. In addition, the top 50 players on the season leaderboard (domestic US tour only) earn free entries. With 13 international and 26 US stops, there will be an estimated 128 free qualifiers.

2017 WSOP CIRCUIT LEADERBOARD

Each of these players will receive accommodations for three nights at Harrah’s Cherokee. (Automatic qualifiers from International Circuit stops will receive a fourth night.) Players who make the final day of the tournament will receive one extra night. Each player who qualifies for a free seat will also receive a $500 travel stipend.

BUYING IN DIRECTLY

A select group of players has the option to buy in for $10,000 (rake free). The top 100 players on the 2017 WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard have the right to buy in, and any Circuit ring winner from this past season also has that option.

CIRCUIT SERIES AT HARRAH’S CHEROKEE

The 2018 Global Casino Championship is not only the culmination of the 2017-2018 Circuit season. It’s also part of the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. The Circuit stop will run August 1-13, with the Global Casino Championship coming right before the Main Event of the series. The stop will feature the standard 12 ring events which will offer one of the first opportunities to earn points toward next season’s Global Casino Championship.
