LIVE SATELLITES AT THE RIO DURING THE WSOP

During the 2012 WSOP at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, there are multiple, daily tournaments in which you can enter, where if successful, your award will be tournament chips good for use in any of the 61 WSOP gold bracelet events.

All of these satellite tournaments take place inside the Pavilion Ballroom in the Rio Convention Center area. You can register for these events directly at the cage located in the Pavilion.

Beginning May 27, 2012 and continuing through July 9, players have the option to compete in single-table satellites, mega-satellites and turbo-mega satellites.

What is the right satellite for you? It depends. The most affordable ones are mega-satellites where more players participate and more chances to win seats to a gold bracelet event are available. If you are short on time, a single-table satellite or turbo satellite is right for you. Single table satellites feature only one table of players. Win that table and you win the seat. It's that simple. Turbo satellites feature quicker blind levels, thus speeding up the tournament.

Prices to enter WSOP satellites at the Rio start at just $75.

Host a WSOP Satellite Event

In 1983, organizers of the World Series of Poker decided to offer "satellites" (or poker tournaments which had much more affordable buy-ins), where the award for winning such a tournament would be an entry into a higher buy-in World Series of Poker event.

Satellites are now a standard offering at WSOP poker tournaments worldwide.

Today, with the plethora of gaming establishments around the world, the advent of the internet for playing poker in some jurisdictions and an abundance of charities looking for unique events, awarding a seat into an official World Series of Poker event will raise the bar on your local event.

However, there are steps that must be taken if you intend to award a WSOP seat to one of your events.

Please read below and follow the instructions in order to start the process to become an Official WSOP Licensee.

In order to qualify for an official World Series of Poker License, your organization must meet preliminary suitability criteria. In simple terms, we must do some due diligence on your company to ensure we, as a heavily-regulated operator of gaming events, can indeed be in business with you.

If you can answer YES to all three of the following questions, then proceed to the next steps outlined below to begin the process!

1. Is a sanctioned poker event legal in your jurisdiction?
2. Is the location where you would host this event at least 75-miles outside of a Caesars Entertainment Casino property? (See list of property locations).
3. Are you willing to pay the required $500 non-refundable application fee?

If you are indeed sure you can meet the above criteria, the next step is to send us your information to begin the process.

Please email Daniel Vogel at [email protected] . In your email, please include your full name, your company name, your planned event date and your contact information

We will review your information and then go about providing you the required paperwork.
